"the Cypresses ... with real sympathy for Dvorak fertile early lyricism, leave a rather stronger impression. Dvorak arrangements are imaginative and skilful, and played complete, in his order, they make a lovely sequence - a collection of 'Songs without words' more consistent than Mendelssohns' cycles. The English Quartet fulfil all these conditions, and the intimate, warm-sounding recording suits their approach very well... The Terzetto is a more substantial piece altogether, though there are plenty of echoes of the melodic freshness of Cypresses...Again the English Quartet respond with abvious feelin ...For once, the Epithet 'charming' hits the mark."
